Small People, Big Feelings (ABN 22 767 904 430). Contact: hello@smallpeoplebigfeelings.com.

This page says, in plain English, what we keep about you and your children, why, and how to delete it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we keep

  • Your email address. It is how you sign in (we send you a link; there are no passwords) and where we send your welcome and sign-in emails.
  • Your children’s birth months, and first names if you choose to add them. Optional. We use them only to put the most useful lessons first and pick examples for their ages. We never ask for a full date of birth.
  • Your progress: which lessons and exercises you have done, and your quiz answers, so you can pick up where you left off.
  • Your journal: what you write in the private journal.
  • Certificates: the name you choose to show on a certificate, if you make one. Certificates have a private web address that only works if you share it.

On the free taster without an account, your children’s ages, progress and notes stay in your own browser. They are not sent to us.

What we never do

  • We never put your children’s details in emails, analytics or logs.
  • We never read your journal or use it for anything except showing it back to you.
  • We never sell or share your information for marketing.
  • No advertising trackers. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you. The only cookie we set is the one that keeps you signed in.

If you write something worrying in the journal

If a journal entry mentions things like self-harm or harm to a child, the page immediately shows a card with crisis phone numbers, above the save button. Your entry is still saved, privately, and nobody is notified. We are not a clinical or emergency service, and we can’t and don’t monitor journals. If you or a child are in danger, call 000.

Who else handles your information

  • Stripe processes your payment. We never see your card number. Stripe keeps its own payment records.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site and stores the course’s database, in their data centres.
  • Postmark sends our emails.

Each of these is bound by its own privacy terms. Some may store data outside Australia.

Deleting your information

  • Children’s details: delete one child or all of them, at once, on your account page.
  • Journal entries: delete any entry from the journal page.
  • Everything: delete your account on your account page. It signs you out straight away, and every record about you is deleted within 24 hours. This can’t be undone. Our nightly backups are kept for 30 days, so a copy can stay in a private backup for up to 30 days after that; backups are used only to restore the service after a fault, never to bring a deleted account back. Stripe keeps its own record of your payment, as the law requires.
