Not medical advice

This course is general information for parents and carers. It is not medical advice, not therapy, and not a replacement for your GP, maternal and child health nurse, paediatrician, psychologist or a crisis service.

The course explains why children do what they do and suggests things to try at home. It never diagnoses, never prescribes and never tells you your child has a condition. Every lesson that touches feeding, sleep, illness, allergies, mental health, development or injury tells you when to talk to a professional, and lists signs that mean you should get help straight away.

If you think your child is unwell or in danger, call 000 (or 112 from a mobile). If you are worried about your own safety or your child’s, or you’re thinking about harming yourself, see who to call.

Every claim in the course names its source and how strong the evidence is. Research changes, studies disagree, and every child is different. If anything here conflicts with what a health professional who knows your child tells you, follow the professional.

General information, not medical advice. Not therapy, and not a replacement for your doctor, a child health nurse, or a crisis service. Read what this course is and isn't.
